Kennel Attendants - North

Sandy McClain is our Profession Pet Stylist. She joined the Heritage team July 2017. She has a passion for animals and cares about the pets in her care. Sandy is an Indiana State University graduate, with a bachelors of science degree in Psychology. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for the past 20 years. They have 3 boys ages 18, 10, and 5. Their home is completed by Patches the Calico, Willow the English Pointer adopted from Parke Vermillion Humane Shelter, and Kimber the Pit Bull that had been abandoned at a young age. Sandy's Motto that she lives by is 'Humanity before Vanity'

Denise was born and raised in Terre Haute, IN. After graduating from North High School she began her career at Terre Haute First National Bank. This is where she met her husband, William O'Rourke. Upon his retirement from the bank they made the decision to relocate to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1996. It was a cooler climate and they enjoyed the beautiful outdoors.
 
In 1999 Denise decided to pursue her passion of Dog Grooming. She attended Colorado Dog Grooming Academy and graduated the end of 1999. Soon after, they opened a salon/retail business in Falcon, Colorado. It was fantastic having a 'job' she thoroughly enjoyed. 

The year 2019 brought so many changes to her life. Her husband passed away in December 2019. Shortly after that the world was turned upside down due to the Corona Virus. Her salon was then closed down several weeks which made her choose to travel back home to Terre Haute. That decision opened up a great opportunity for her to become a part of the Heritage Animal Hospital family. She is excited about starting this new chapter as well as meeting and grooming your fur babies. She wants to make a solemn promise to always take care of them like they are her own!!

Denise shares her home with a very sweet Standard Poodle named Zeus that owns her!! 

Sage joined the HAH family in April of 2022. She grew up on a farm, so she developed her love of animals at a very young age. Sage is currently  a kennel attendant, but she is eager/excited to pursue other departments within the clinic.
In her spare time, Sage enjoys hiking, camping, riding 4-wheelers, and taking new adventures. She shares her home with her 3 dogs- Buck (Golden Doodle), Rodeo (Golden Retriever), and Trails (Basset/Golden Retriever). Sage also has a big supportive family that she enjoys spending time with Gerald (boyfriend), Tascha (mom), Jarrod (dad), Braxton (brother) & Bryar (sister).

Britney has been with Heritage Animal Hospital since July of 2018. Britney has always had a love for animals and really enjoys getting to spend quality time with them when they board at Camp Happy Tails! She always says that this is the best job she has ever had!!

In her spare time she enjoys learning new things, going to the creek, going on adventures, and riding her dirt bike. 

Britney shares her home with her boyfriend Devin, 2 daughters Melanie and Camilah, her dogs- Ellie, Harper, Molly & Maddie, and her super sweet cat Aly!  

Macey joined the HAH family in 2018. Life moved her in other directions, but she returned in November of 2022! We are so happy to have her back!  

Macey shares her home with her husband Kenny, her son Oliver, 4 dogs- Sarge, Girly, Dottie, & Daisy May, and 1 cat- Matilda. In her spare time, she enjoys riding cycle bikes, going to the creek, and hanging out with family!

Calli joined the HAH family in May of 2024. She has always had a love for animals since she was a little girl. She shares her home with her 2 cats Mavis and Zurita, and her rescued Yellow Lab, Forest. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music and shopping! 

Shannon joined the HAH family in November of 2024. She has always had a love for all animals, and has had a variety of pets over the years, including snakes, lizards, a tarantula and many pet rats. She is pictured with her 7-year-old American Bulldog, Fenris. She also has a love for doing hair and makeup and is hoping to attend cosmetology school in the near future. She shares her home with her boyfriend, Mike and her youngest son, Gage. She also has an older son, Eric and a daughter, Kaitlyn. Shannon is also a grandmother to Amaya, and Marli; who will arrive in May!! In her spare time, Shannon can be found watching horror movies, dying her hair, and playing in makeup while listening to music! 

Perry joined the HAH family in June of 2023! She decided to get into the veterinary world because she has always had a love for animals and grew up rescuing and caring for stray animals. Perry is currently a senior at North Vigo High School where she is involved in Link Crew, acting as a built in friend, tour guide, and leader to freshmen. She is also a cast member at the Moonlite drive in theater! After high school, she plans to continue her education to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Perry shares her home with her mom(Lorry), dad(Mike), older sister Mikel, and their 6 cats Sid, Figaro, Gus, Russell, Flower, and Haukua! In her free time, she loves game nights with friends/family and cuddling with her cats and watching TV together!

Reese joined the HAH family in March of 2024! He is currently a senior at Terre Haute North High School where he is a proud member of the Terre Haute  North Bass Fishing Team and is a Indiana DeMolay Senior Counselor of the Jerry Burns chapter. After high school, he plans to attend Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis to become an auto mechanic.  Reese has always loved animals and his mom Sandy is one of our beloved groomers!! Reese shares his home with his parent, brothers, and his Pitbull Kimber. 

Emma joined the HAH family in January of 2025. She is currently a senior at Terre Haute North where she is the Terre Haute North FFA and is a 7 year member of Vigo County 4-H. When she completes high school, she plans to go vet school to become a large animal vet! Emma shares her home with her llama, Jafar, sheep, Ellie, and Puggle named Pug. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with the people she loves, and shopping! 

Meghan joined the HAH family in December of 2024. She actually started as an extern through her high school because she wants to go into veterinary medicine! As soon as a position opened up for her to work here, she jumped at the opportunity. Meghan is currently a senior at Riverton Parke Junior Senior High School and plans to attend Purdue University after graduation for animal sciences. She lives in her small hometown with her mom(Shirley) and my dad(Jim). She also has three siblings and her dog Sissy who she adopted from the shelter on her 13th birthday. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends and family, walk her dog, go tubing/swimming in the creek, and play basketball with her friends around town.
