Clinic Pets

  • Pigg Cooke

Hi, my name is Pigg! I was brought to Heritage Animal Hospital North when I was just a tiny kitten, maybe just a couple weeks old. The people here were very kind and bottle fed me until I was old enough to eat on my own. They decided to name me Pigg (Pig Pen) because I was an incredibly messy kitten. I would have food all over me! They had to put me in water daily (which I absolutely hated) to clean me up. I never understood this, and I tried to tell them I was just saving a snack for later. They never listened to me. Now, almost 20 years later, I’m an old lady, but I am still very messy. I eat and drink using my paws and get food and water everywhere. They stopped putting me in the water daily, but it still happens sometimes. I still hate it. The people here started giving me some kind of shot every month. I think it’s called Solensia, or something like that. It definitely makes me feel a lot better and I am back to playing more and following the people up and down the hallway begging for attention. I even let them pick me up sometimes without biting them! Watch out though! Every once in a while my “Calico” comes out, whatever that means, that’s what the people call it. Pet me and take your chances, you never know what side you’re going to get!

  • Hatti Cooke

Hi, my name is Hatti! I was brought to Heritage North as a kitten. I had a really rough childhood. My mom abandoned me when I was very young. I was really cold and scared, so I climbed into this big machine for warmth. Well, I was sleeping for the first time in weeks when this awful sound scared me! I blacked out and the next thing I knew I was at Heritage Animal Hospital getting emergency medical care! Come to find out, I had gotten caught in the fan belt of a car. The people that found me didn’t think I could be saved, but Dr. Lauren saved my life! Both of my back legs were broken and I was in pretty bad shape. I ended up losing one of my back legs, and had some other complications from my injury that caused some hiccups along the way. The people here ended up naming me Hatti after something called a Hat Trick. I had to google it because I didn’t understand. Apparently a Hat Trick is a series of three victories, successes, or related accomplishments. Since I only have 3 legs and had 3 surgeries to fix my complications, I guess it fits me! I’m a shy and quiet girl, and loud noises still startle me, but I love it here and I am very thankful for Dr. Lauren for saving my life!

  • Sawyer Cooke

Hi, my name is Sawyer! I got my name from Dr. Lauren Sample, her maiden name was Sawyer. She was moving away, so they named me after her so that a part of her would still be here. I was born here at Heritage Animal Hospital North on April 23rd, 2022. My mom was a “feral”. I am not sure what that means. She was just mom to me, but they say it a lot so it must mean something important. I think she was a royal or something because they all call me the KING! According to what I’ve read, Kings are supposed to be in charge, but the people here never let me do what I want. They are always getting on me for things and taking pictures of my perfect hiding spots! You can follow my reign on the Heritage Facebook page. My features are listed under “Where is Sawyer?”.

  • Momma Cooke

Hi, my name is Momma! I was found walking the streets of Terre Haute outside of the Animal Emergency Clinic. I was down on my luck just trying to survive, doing what I had to do, when a beautiful young veterinarian found me! That woman was Dr. Jess, she even got slightly injured while trying to rescue me! She took me in and gave me a nice warm home at the Emergency Clinic! I never had kittens, I was always safe that way, a working girl has to know her limits, but they named me Momma anyway. I guess they picked the name because I took care of everyone while I lived at the Emergency Clinic. I ran that place, and everyone knew me! In 2019 when the Animal Emergency Clinic shut down, they moved me to Heritage North! You can find me in Camp Happy Tails where I’m still in charge! I even got into a tussle with a K9 Officer here. I may have lost a toe in that fight, but I won the battle!

  • Spike Cooke

Hi, my name is Spike. I’m a Bearded Dragon! I moved to Heritage North in 2019 when my previous family could no longer care for me and my siblings. I might come across as a shy guy, but I’m not as shy as I look. The girls in Camp Happy Tails are my best buds. They give me lots of worms, which are my favorite and they give me baths! I pretend to hate them, but I really love them. I especially love the after bath time snuggles I get! The girls often like to take me on walks around the clinic and they even let me ride on their shoulders! They know I have a bit of a Napoleon complex, so this helps me feel big and strong! If you pay attention, I have a bit of an attitude problem. You’ll know when I’m upset, I can’t hide it. Have you ever seen the “Hulk”? I imagine this is what will happen to me eventually. My whole body starts to change colors (to black, not green) and my head starts bobbing up and down. If you see this, stand back. I don’t know what I’m capable of.
